ULTIMATE POOL PARTY
Hosted by Mitch & Ewa Laurance on August 12, this centerpiece exhibition featured 12 top billiard pros in an 8-Ball Team Challenge playoff. The four three-person teams shown below competed in a single-elimination 8-Ball format (two semi-finals and one finals match), with each of the three matches taped for broadcast on ESPN in September.

The team playoff was sponsored by Olhausen Billiard Mfg. Inc., Pooldawg.com, American Poolplayers Association and Sardo Tight Rack. The pro lineup included Johnny Archer, Karen Corr, Corey Deuel, Allison Fisher, Gerda Hofstatter, Thorsten Hohmann, Julie Kelly, Jeanette Lee, Tony Robles, Ralf Souquet, Vivian Villarreal and Charlie Williams. Each of the teams "re-dubbed" themselves with their new names, on site in Baltimore, and each wore a wireless microphone to pick up the coaching and banter of the play, set in a home game room replica.
