IT WAS A PROUD DAY FOR THE SPORT OF POCKET
BILLIARDS … as 39 of the 136 junior players competing in the
2007 Junior National 9-Ball Championships were given the Billiard

certificates of achievement were presented to each youngster by BEF
Executive Director Laura Smith and Director of Program Development
Dawn Hopkins at the BEF Junior Nationals banquet, which was held on

the moment.

in billiard competition. Academic All-American honors are given to
those who qualify for the BEF Junior Nationals, plus earn a 3.5 GPA

MEMBER MARKETING
101 ... From "52 Ways to Make Pool Everybody's Game" |
|
TIP №
09 |
|
|
Develop cross-promotions with
local merchants to generate
additional business. |
|
 |
|
|
|
STRATEGY: |
|
|
When you join forces
with local businesses,
such as Pizza Hut,
Baskin-Robbins or
another popular local
food outlet, you both
stand to gain business.
To attract new customers
from other merchants,
offer free playing time
with the purchase of a
meal. Or, with the
purchase of a game of
pool, offer a discounted
meal to give customers a
value-added incentive to
visit your pool room
more often. |
|
|
|
|
EXECUTION: |
|
-
Contact
businesses in your area that
would be a good match for
your pool room.
-
Negotiate a cross-promotion
that would benefit both
businesses.
-
Make
the offer good for a limited
time to instill a sense of
urgency.
-
Note
which local food merchants
utilize radio advertising,
and suggest that they work
the promotion into their
existing radio spots.
-
Create
displays at each business to
merchandise the promotion.
-
Advertise the promotion in
local newspapers or
distribute flyers.
-
Change
promotions over time to
attract different prospects.
