BCA CHANGES DATES
FOR INTERNATIONAL BILLIARD & HOME
RECREATIONAL EXPO...The BCA Expo will take place
in Las Vegas on Wednesday, July 14 - Friday,
July 16, 2010, at the Las Vegas Convention
Center. Previously the 2010 Expo dates were June
24-26, 2010.
“This unanimous vote of the BCA Board of Directors finally
puts the show date issue to rest,” said Ivan Lee,
chairman of the BCA Board of Directors. “We believe
that by going back to the original trade show
timeframe, we will have the best opportunity to
attract a larger attendance of buyers. In addition
to the date change, we have also adjusted which days
the Expo is held, to Wednesday through Friday. This
change is designed to enable more buyers to attend
the Expo before heading back to their businesses for
weekend sales. While we felt confident that we made
the changes for the right reasons, it is important
to note that we have received overwhelming support
for the date change from all of the exhibitors
contracted for 2010.”
The BCA is
pleased to report that 65 companies have already
contracted for 326 booths during onsite 2010 booth
selection at the 2009 BCA Expo. Early Bird Exhibit
space sales are currently underway and will continue
through November 1, 2009.
The International Billiard
& Home Recreation Expo provides industry
manufacturers, distributors, retailers, dealers and
poolroom operators an annual venue for new business
opportunities, including education, new products and
networking. The International Billiard & Home
Entertainment Expo is sponsored exclusively by the
BCA. For more information,

Airport Way, #160 Broomfield, CO 80021

The BCA's
new smiling face... The consolidation comes as the association continues to look at
ways to improve its operating efficiencies in this
challenging economy.
Prior to this consolidation,
the BCA outsourced its membership, marketing,
financial, IT and administrative services to
Meeting Expectations, an Atlanta-based strategic
association management consulting firm.
“Meeting Expectations has been
a great partner during the transition of our headquarters in Colorado Springs to Broomfield,”
said BCA CEO Rob
Johnson. “They have played a significant
role as we have revamped our operations and
management systems and dealt with a very difficult
economy. They have helped us put a platform in place
for operating our association as efficiently and effectively as possible, and it will pay dividends
for the BCA far into the future.”
The BCA has hired Shane Tyree as the
new Membership and Communications Coordinator. Shane
has a bachelor's degree in Anthropology and a
master's degree in Mass Communication. He can

NATIONAL BILLIARD ACADEMY OFFERS "INDUSTRY INSIDER
DISCOUNTS" |
|
National
Billiard Academy,
Columbus,
Ohio based Master Instructor Tom Simpson is offering
a $300
scholarship for anyone working fulltime in any
aspect of the billiard industry. The
scholarships will be applied to the player’s
tuition at one of the National Billiard
Academy’s 3-Day Weekend Intensives.
|
Tom Simpson BCA Master Instructor & Member of
Instructor Committee
|
“So many
people I meet in the pool industry got into it
because they loved the game, but they barely
play anymore. Some don’t play as well as they
feel they should, given their position in the
industry – so they don’t play. Some have just
lost the fun. I think that’s a shame, and I want
to do something about it,” explained Simpson.
In addition
to the obvious benefits of learning to play
better, pool school graduates gain knowledge,
confidence, and credibility on billiard topics.
And that can turn into more sales, better
products, and reconnecting to the game. For many
in the billiard industry, the total cost of
attending a 3-Day Intensive training will be a
deductible (and justifiable) business expense.
The Weekend
Intensives are offered regularly at the main
school (Columbus OH), and periodically in
selected cities nationwide.

Scholarship, contact Tom at 614-975-8337
