ESPN to air 8-Ball Team Challenge in September

Colorado Springs, Colorado: The Billiard Congress of America [BCA] has received ESPN's preliminary schedule for September broadcasts of the Ultimate Pool Party, which will be filmed at the "Ballbusters promotional event in Baltimore on August 12. Those airdates will be:

  • Sunday, September 10 @ 3:00 pm*, Semifinal #1
  • Monday, September 11 @ 4:00 pm, Semifinal #1 (on ESPN2)**
  • Sunday, September 17 @ 2:00 pm, Semifinal #2
  • Sunday, September 24 @ 2:00 pm, Final
  • *all times are eastern, **all to air on ESPN unless otherwise noted

The ESPN studio-taping will take place on a set designed to look like a well-appointed, upscale sports/billiard room, and the program will be co-hosted by Mitch and Ewa Laurance. The "Ultimate Pool Party" was developed to highlight pool in a home setting while inviting audiences to become more familiar with the top names and faces in pool today. It will be played in a four-team 8-Ball challenge format, featuring these top pros:

  • Team A: Johnny Archer, Karen Corr, Julie Kelly
  • Team B: Thorsten Hohmann, Vivian Villarreal, Charlie Williams
  • Team C: Corey Deuel, Jeanette Lee, Ralf Souquet
  • Team D: Allison Fisher, Gerda Hofstatter, Tony Robles
